Mark Barroca made a sweet homecoming in this Mindanao jewel city, putting up a good show for his kababayans and helping Magnolia Pambansang Manok sustain their splurge versus Meralco Bolts in their Petron Blaze road showdown at the MVA City Coliseum here.
Barroca, a proud son of the city, dished out a performance to remember, getting away with team highs of 21 points and seven assists as the Hotshots clobbered the Bolts, 99-88, to jack up their stock at third place in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup with a 5-2 win-loss card.
The Bolts dropped to 3-6.
James Farr and Ian Sangalang collected double-double numbers while Paul Lee fired away 18 points including four three-pointers as the Hotshots stretched their streak to five games after a 0-2 start in the midseason tourney.
But Barroca stood out in this match where the Magnolia guard finally realized a cherished dream to perform before his kababayans as a pro.
