San Miguel Alab Pilipinas is going home empty handed after absorbing a 85-64 whipping from the Singapore Slingers, Sunday afternoon in Season 10 of the ASEAN Basketball League at the OCBC Arena.
The Philippine representative to the regional meet failed to duplicate its earlier win over the same team as it shot a measly 34 percent from the field on top of 15 turnovers.
The loss dropped the Jimmy Alapag-mentored squad to 5-3 which is good for 4th place in the team standings.
Xavier Alexander paced the home team with a triple-double of 31 points, 10 rebounds, 12 assists to go along with 8 steals and 2 blocks. Marcus Elliot and Anthony McClain finished with 19 and 18 markers, respectively.
Sam Deguara paced Alab with 14 points and 9 boards while Jeremiah Gray and Nick King each dropped 9 markers.
Khalif Wyatt, who fired 20 of his 28 points in the payoff period of the team’s win over the Slingers last December 15 at the Sta. Rosa Multi-purpose Sports Complex, could only cough up 7 points on 2-of-6 shooting.
