Team Greats gunned down Team Stalwarts in a shootout, 158-138, to top the Rookies, Sophomores, Juniors game of the PBA All-Star weekend Friday.

Adrian Wong of Magnolia anchored the Team Greats’ assault with 29 points including back-to-back shots from four-point in the final quarter that held back a spirited rally by Team Stalwarts.

Wong buried the game’s first four-point basket to give his team a 22-17 lead in the first quarter that set the tone for high-scoring match.

He later capped the show with a three-point dunk in the game’s final minutes in which he bounced the ball off the floor before completing a two-handed slam that drew cheers from the capacity crowd at the City of Passi Arena

He finished with 29 points including 18 in the final quarter to emerge MVP and awarded his own trophy plus P30k prize purse.

“I’m just happy everyone came out and competed,” said the Magnolia player.

“I was just feeling it so I kept on rolling and see what happens afterwards,” he said about the game’s first four-point shot.
