TNT KaTropa sprang back strong from a sorry loss the last time out, riding high on the big games of Terrence Jones, RR Pogoy and Jayson Castro to pull off a 114-88 rout of Phoenix Pulse in a highly emotional match marked by the ejection of no less than six individuals.
Jones piled up 40 points, Pogoy scattered 31 markers spiked by eight three-pointers while Castro came through with a triple-double game with13 rebounds, 11 points and 11 assists.
Amidst tension from a number of confrontations, including the heated shoving and pushing barely two minutes into the game, the KaTropa stayed composed and played relentless basketball in the second half to nail a third win in four starts in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Before a sizeable Sunday crowd at the Ynares Sports Center, the two teams clashed in a heated match that saw the ejection of Phoenix coach Louie Alas, Fuel Master Jason Perkins and TNT twins David and Tony Semerad barely two minutes and 49 seconds into the game.
TNT consultant Mark Dickel followed suit three seconds later.
