Thirdy Ravena dropped from Gilas roster for game against Jordan

Thirdy Ravena has been dropped from the Final 12 of Gilas Pilipinas for the game against Jordan which is set on midnight of November 11, Philippine time at the Prince Hamza Arena in Amman, Jordan.

The San-En NeoPhoenix guard was the final cut from the 20-man training pool of the Philippine Men’s national basketball team.

Of the lot, 4 begged off due to injuries, namely June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel, Chris Newsome of Meralco, Carl Tamayo of UP and Kiefer Ravena of the Shiga Lakestars.

NorthPort’s Arvin Tolentino and William Navarro together with Lebron Lopez were cut prior to the team’s departure for the middle east.

Comprising the national team for the match against the Falcons are PBA players Scottie Thompson, Japeth Aguilar and Jamie Malonzo of Brgy. Gineba, Roger Pogoy, Calvin Oftana and Poy Erram of TNT, and CJ Perez of San Miguel.

Joining them are Japan B.League imports Dwight Ramos and Bobby Ray Parks together with NBL sophomore Kai Sotto.

Rounding up the squad are collegiate standouts Angelo Kouame of Ateneo and Kevin Quiambao of La Salle.

FIBA released the 12-man roster after the technical meetings which was held 24 hours before tip-off.

Gilas currently holds a 3-3 record and is tied with the hosts for 3rd and 4th spots in Group E.
