TNT replaces Quincy Miller with older brother of Rondae Hollis-Jefferson

After going winless through their first four games in the East Asia Super League (EASL), TNT has decided to replace import Quincy Miller with Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson, the older brother of its PBA import Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

Tropang Giga coach Jojo Lastimosa confirmed that Miller had requested to be released from his contract after receiving a more lucrative overseas offer.

“He (Miller) asked to be released because a team offered him a good, longer contract,” said Lastimosa during an interview with Manila Times.

The 6-foot-9 Miller performed well statistically for TNT, averaging 28.3 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting over 36% from three-point range in the team’s four EASL matches so far.

The flagship team of the MVP group hopes the addition of the 32-year-old Hollis-Jefferson will boost their performance in the Asian tournament, allowing him to play alongside his younger brother Rondae.

Rahlir recently saw action with the OSR Lions in Hungary, where he submitted averages of 8.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.

Following his college experience at Temple, Rahlir ventured into the NBA G League before deciding to play internationally. He has competed in Canada, Finland, and Hungary.

TNT has lost all four of its games in the EASL, including a 105-97 loss to the Anyang Jung Kwang Jang Red Boosters on December 6 in Korea.

Standing at 6-foot-6, Rahlir will have his EASL debut on December 20 when the Tropang Giga host the Taipei Fubon Braves in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.
