WATCH: Rondae Hollis-Jefferson gets heated! Coach Yeng Guiao reacts!

Rain or Shine stretched its mind-boggling turnaround run to a fifth straight win and claimed an outright PBA Commissioner’s Cup playoffs entry on a 119-112 drubbing of TNT Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Elasto Painters banked on a their usual balanced attack to counter the explosive 87-point team-up effort of debuting TNT import Rahlir Hollis-Jefferson and Calvin Oftana as ROS sustained their romp after a 0-5 season start and thus secured a quarterfinals berth with a 5-5 win-loss record.

Rain or Shine became the seventh team to make the quarters, leaving TNT (4-6) and NLEX (3-6) to fight it out for the last remaining slot in the post-elims play.

The Tropang Giga have the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters as final assignment while the Road Warriors close out their elims campaign with games versus the Converge FiberXers and the Barangay Ginebra Kings.

Coach Yeng Guiao’s E-Painters are assured of a playoff berth regardless of the result of their game versus the FiberXers on Jan. 14.

Rain or Shine gained automatic passage with the crucial win over TNT hacked out on a strong finish from two points down with 3:49 left to play.

Tree Treadwell produced 25 points and 24 rebounds and Andre Caracut fired 23 points including key free throws down the stretch to lead the E-Painters past a TNT side which was led by Hollis-Jefferson with 50 points in an explosive PBA debut.
