WATCH: Skills Challenge [PBA All-Star Bacolod | Mar. 23, 2024]

The highly anticipated Blitz Game and Skills Challenge marks the official start of the PBA All-Star festivities, presented by Arena Plus, this Saturday at the University of St. La Salle gymnasium in Bacolod City, also known as the City of Smiles.

Kicking off the two-day event is the thrilling Obstacle Course at 3 p.m., followed by a matchup between Team Greats and Team Stalwarts. This event marks the return of the All-Star festivities to Bacolod City for the first time since 2008.

NLEX’s Dave Marcelo will be looking to defend his title in the Obstacle Challenge against a competitive field that includes seasoned players like Raymond Almazan, Jason Perkins, and Mo Tautuaa, as well as rising stars like Clifford Jopia and Isaac Go.

In the Long Distance Three-Point shootout, Magnolia’s Paul Lee aims for back-to-back victories against a strong lineup of sharpshooters, including two-time winner James Yap and the talented Maverick Ahanmisi.

As a new addition to the event, a second version of the Three-Point shootout will feature the league’s big men, replacing the traditional Slam Dunk contest.

The main event of the evening will feature Team Greats led by Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser facing off against Team Stalwarts led by Kyt Jimenez. Ganuelas-Rosser’s team includes standout players like Jerrick Ahanmisi and Arvin Tolentino, while Jimenez’s team features skilled players such as Stephen Holt and Joshua Munzon.

Last year’s event showcased an exciting display of talent, with Team Greats emerging victorious over Team Stalwarts. The addition of a three-point dunk and a four-point line added a new level of excitement to the All-Star festivities.
